Shamelessly stealing this from Mike, because he’s always got the best ideas for a blog post!
A is for age: 36
B is for breakfast today: Oatmeal. Just like every. Single. Day.
C is for currently craving: salt. Lots of salt. Chinese food, crackers, chex mix….it all sounds good.
D is for dinner tonight: Jeff’s going to smoke a pizza. He always takes really good care of me on Tuesday nights since I have a 3 hour session at the gym after work between my run and then teaching 2 classes.
E is for favorite type of exercise: Running
F is for irrational fear: Oh, all my fears are completely rational. But lately while running on the treadmill at my gym I think roughly 10 times a session that I’m going to step wrong and break my ankle, capping it off with being thrown off the back of the treadmill for good measure. Don’t judge, being stuck on a treadmill for an hour tends to let your mind wander.
G is for gross food: Sorry, Syd, but I’m going to go with aspic. I blame the texture.
H is for hometown: We moved around a bunch as a kid. Can I just say the midwest? Nebraska as a whole?
I is for something important: my marriage
J is for current favorite jam: Flaws by Bastille. Favorite line:
“All of your flaws and all of my flaws,
When they have been exhumed
We’ll see that we need them to be who we are
Without them we’d be doomed”
K is for kids: Nope.
L is for current location: Location alliteration: I’m in Lincoln, NE!
M is for the most recent way you spent money: We went to a really delicious and fun wine pairing last Friday night. And I think we’re going to each get a massage here soon-my calf muscle is bothering me and Jeff’s back has been troublesome.
N is for something you need: A vacation. We’re going to Chicago for 5 days next month and I am ready to go NOW.
O is for occupation: Data integration for a third party vendor providing payment plans for college students.
P is for pet peeve: Um, as I was walking in to work today I saw one of them, but truth be told I’m easily annoyed. Anyway, saw a dude wearing his sunglasses on the back of his head. I don’t know why but that bugs me to no end.
Q is for a quote: “tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look foward to the trip”.
R is for random fact about you: For roughly 3 years, I ate the exact same thing for lunch every single day: half a red pepper, half a green pepper, carrots and kidney beans with some fat free italian dressing and then an apple. I started eating this when I was on a pretty limited diet right after a bad breakup, and it worked and I lost weight. I then became terrified that if I stopped eating exactly this, I’d get fat. I don’t really know what convinced me to change, but thank goodness.
S is for favorite healthy snack: Apple and pistachios. Have it every day after my noon run and those trader joe’s salt and pepper pistachios get me through the last few miles.
T is for favorite treat: I will take this to mean my ultimate treat, which is usually a cookie with a scoop of ice cream on it. Go big or go home, right?
U is for something that makes you unique: When I was 22, I trained to be a professional wrestler. In a midget wrestler’s garage in St Joseph, MO. Top that, people!
V is for favorite vegetable: Carrots. Jeff is worried about my baby carrot addiction, but he’ll have to eat crow when I get x-ray vision from all the Vitamin A.
W is for today’s workout: 6 mile run, followed by spin class, followed by power pump. First workout is for me, second 2 I teach, but I do still get a good workout from them. Bottom line, by the time I get home on Tuesday nights, Jeff points me towards the bathtub with a glass of wine and lets me relax until I can form coherent sentences again. Bless that man.
X is for X-rays you’ve had: Have I ever had a proper x-ray? I’m not sure. I think way back in the day when I spectacularly faceplanted while rollerblading I got one at the University health center for my wrist, and I know there was imaging done on my knee about 2 years ago.
Y is for yesterday’s highlights: a rousing game of ping pong, a delightful bath I did not want to get out of, a sense of “aha!” when I finally found my paternal grandparent on ancestry.com, and a good hug from my husband.
Z is for your time zone: Central.
